The starting point for the back measurement: must be at the base of the neck, where it meets the back, excluding the neck itself. The end point is the base of the tail.

The chest circumference should instead be measured correctly just behind the front legs, at the widest point. For poodles, it should be measured under the volume of the coat, keeping the tape measure snug without tightening it.
