The starting point for measuring the back: must be at the base of the neck, where it meets the back, excluding the neck itself. The end point is the base of the tail.

The chest circumference should instead be measured correctly just behind the front legs, at the widest point. On a poodle, it should be measured under the volume of the fur, keeping the measuring tape snug without pulling it tight.
